JobsOhio announced a new President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO), J.P. Nauseef, earlier this year, and he officially assumed his position in early March. Shortly thereafter, he contacted each of the six regions to arrange “listening tours” and the APEG region was his first stop.
On April 10th and 11th, J.P., along with four of his senior staff members, Dana Saucier (VP), Kristi Tanner (Senior Managing Director), Matt Cybulski (Sector Director) and Kristi Clouse (Director of Operations), joined APEG staff, partners, elected officials, business leaders and more, to learn about the region — our strengths, challenges, aspirations and goals.
The visit kicked off in Zanesville, at the Muskingum Welcome Center, with an APEG staff presentation to provide J.P. with an overview of the region. From there, he traveled to Cambridge, met and had dinner with ten local business leaders at the Cambridge Country Club.
Early the next morning, J.P. and his staff took a ‘windshield tour’ of the proposed PTGCC site, traveled through many small communities along Route 7, and finally made a stop at Buckeye Hills in Marietta, where he met with almost all of our county economic development partners and two LDDs. Challenges and strengths were again discussed.
The afternoon began in Athens at the Ohio University Inn, where he attended, listened and spoke at the Mayor’s Partnership for Progress Luncheon, and another road trip ensued to Chillicothe, giving him the opportunity to see firsthand what a committed community can do to revitalize its downtown area.
We are energized and hopeful for the future of JobsOhio under Nauseef’s leadership and appreciate the direct attention we received during his first month at the helm.
