Love’s coming to Gallia County

BIDWELL — Gallia County Economic Development officials said Monday that construction has begun on the new Love’s Travel Stop set to open in early 2015.

The new travel stop will be located on the south side of U.S. 35 at the Ohio 850 exit in Bidwell. The new 24/7 location will feature a Hardees restaurant, fuel pumps and diesel pumps for professional drivers, a convenience store and a tire care center. It is anticipated the new project will create approximately 50 new jobs in Gallia County, and initial estimates indicate the new development will add more than $15 million in annual fuel, food and merchandise sales.
“These new jobs and revenues are here to stay and we anticipate that Love’s Travel Stop will be a catalyst for future business growth in the entire area” said Gallia County Commissioner Harold Montgomery.

An official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be planned upon completion of the project early next year.

Founded in 1964 by Tom Love, Love’s Travel Stops & County Stores is headquartered in Oklahoma City, and remains entirely family-owned and operated. With more than 320 locations and more than 200 Love’s Tire Care centers in 39 states, Love’s approximate growth rate is 20 store per year.

Love’s is currently ranked No. 9 on Forbes Magazine’s annual listing of America’s Largest Private Companies. To learn more, go to www.loves.com, Facebook (www.facebook.com/lovestravelstops), or follow @LovesTravelStop on Twitter.
