GALLIPOLIS — Silver Bridge Coffee Co. owner Lorraine Walker has been appointed to Ohio’s Small Business Advisory Council.
It is an advisory board that was created Jan. 10, 2011, via the first executive order signed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich. The board provides counsel to the Common Sense Initiative, created to offer the lieutenant governor the perspectives of the small business community and provide guidance to the mission and direction of the CSI Office.
“We are excited to have Lorraine join our Small Business Advisory Council,” said Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor. “I know she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table and I look forward to our discussions as we continue to work hard to help small businesses grow and thrive in Ohio.”
Headed by Taylor, CSI is reforming Ohio’s regulatory practices to remove barriers that burden small business, while protecting the health and safety of all Ohioans. The nine-member council consists of individuals engaged in different lines of business in varying sizes and locations around the state. The council meets at least quarterly to review regulations and provide recommendations to pave the way for renewed and sustained growth of Ohio’s small businesses as partners in the state’s success.
“I’m honored to be appointed to serve on Lt. Gov. Taylor’s Small Business Advisory Council,” Walker said. “I plan to bring my entrepreneurial spirit and years of family business experience to this advisory board to influence a positive climate for all Ohio small businesses.”
