Marietta, Ohio: January 28, 2020– The Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers’ Coalition (AOMC) is hosting their first Quarterly Stakeholders’ Gathering on February 4, 2020. Guest speakers include Eric Burkland, President of the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, and Lt. Governor Jon Husted.
AOMC formed in early 2019 in partnership with The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, Grimm Scientific, Miba Bearings US, Micro Machine Works, Solvay Specialty Polymers, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. The group began formation of the Coalition to identify and address common manufacturing workforce issues. The strength of the sector-partnership model is alignment of employer driven, needs-based programs, curriculum, and resources to address workforce sustainability today and in the future.
The AOMC sector partnership will provide the conduit to work together and accomplish change critical to the region’s economic future. The key to success will be a larger number of manufacturing members so that common needs may be communicated to our important education and service provider partners, as well as policy makers.
