Plastic Compounders Announces Expansion in Cambridge, Ohio

Plastic Compounders, Inc., in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), and the Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation, today announced an investment of $500,000 to expand its production facility in Cambridge, Ohio, creating five new jobs.

Plastic Compounders recycles post-industrial regrind into pellets and compounds the pellets into a wide range of commodity and engineering resins for several markets, including packaging, horticulture, toys, and housewares. The expansion will add an eighth extrusion line to the company’s operations.

“Our sincere thanks to JobsOhio, OhioSE, and the Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation for their invaluable support,” said Scott Eubanks, Vice President of Plastic Compounders. “This grant allows Plastic Compounders to grow our operations, create jobs, and continue to serve our community and customers effectively.”

A second chance employer, Plastic Compounders works with the Guernsey County Probation office and other programs to offer employment to those on parole and involved in recovery programs.

“Plastic Compounders is a multi-generational, family-owned business that has been providing employment opportunities for local residents since 1965,” said Bill Arnett, Executive Director, Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation. “We are excited the company is expanding and are grateful to OhioSE and JobsOhio for their support of the project.”

A $25,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant supports the expansion and OhioSE assisted the company with the grant process. The JobsOhio Small Business Grant provides grants to support the growth of small businesses that face unique challenges because they are either located in a qualifying zip code or are owned by an eligible population, which includes minorities, women, veterans, and people with disabilities. To qualify the company must have an eligible project and meet business size and industry requirements.

“We congratulate Plastic Compounders on its decision to invest in Guernsey County,” said OhioSE interim president, Katy Farber. “We’re grateful to see the JobsOhio Small Business Grant used to support the company’s continued investment.”
